From April 1st to 4th, 2025, the Career Gardeners project hosts an enriching training course in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz, Andalusia), designed to equip youth workers with the essential tools for creating and implementing Career Gardens.

These Career Gardens will take place across five countries between April and November 2025, offering young people participatory workshops and events in collaboration with local stakeholders. The aim is to guide the new generation in aligning their career paths with their personal values and sustainability aspirations.

The training in Jerez features a variety of engaging activities, including in-depth workshops focused on the Career Gardeners toolkits. Additionally, youth workers have the opportunity to learn from the inspiring work of Spanish organizations such as Madre Coraje and Futuralga.

Progettomondo Unveils Green Plan for Sustainable Practices

Progettomondo has developed a comprehensive Green Management Plan for the project partners, providing valuable guidance on sustainable office practices, event planning, and mobility organisation throughout the Career Gardeners project and beyond. The plan is designed to create a lasting impact on partner organisations by promoting sustainability and encouraging reflection on individual practices. An initial survey was conducted at the partners' meeting in Innsbruck, followed by a second review in June 2024 as part of the interim evaluation.

The Green Management Plan not only sets the course for the consortium's sustainability efforts but also prepares partners to prioritise environmentally friendly practices at future international meetings.

So far, only one in-person meeting has been held, as the project has primarily focused on research, content development, and online information sharing. However, this phase gave the consortium an opportunity to explore other sustainable behaviours. Notable progress has been made in adopting certified or recycled materials, sustainable IT infrastructure, and eco-friendly gadgets.

Consultating Youth Workers on Learning Objectives

Between May and June 2023, the project partners, led by Progettomondo, organised a series of consultations with youth workers and professionals in the field of career guidance. 31 youth workers from 5 countries (Austria, Italy, Bulgaria, Poland and Spain) were involved.

The consultations included: an online webinar open to people from different organisations, also outside of the partnership, a consultation in Innsbruck with the project partners and interviews with professional youth workers, most of whom are also involved in career guidance.

The aim of the consultations was to identify training needs of youth workers and young people as well as learning objectives for the e-course and the toolkits.

Thanks to the consultation, it was possible to achieve results such as a high degree of tailoring of the e-course to the needs of youth workers and the international dimension of the training.

The consultation influenced the high level of involvement of all partners in the e-course and the toolkit, and allowed the exchange of knowledge and experience of the partners and other professionals.

Kick-Off Meeting in Innsbruck

On 6-7 June 2023 the project partners met in picturesque Innsbruck to launch the Career Gardeners' project and start the process of creating new tools for youth workers to bring together the need for career guidance, ethical values and sustainable development.

The event was hosted by the Austrian organisation Suedwind who is leading the project. It was attended by 9 staff members of the partner organisations, being - besides Südwind: OEC (Bulgaria), Progettomondo (Italy), Cz-Art (Poland), Madre Coraje (Spain) and GRYD (Ireland).

The two days were devoted to get a clear picture of the content for the Career Gardeners training course and the toolkit for youth workers, starting from a snapshot visualization of the project idea as "living sculptures".

Within this cooperative project partners share responsibilities both for content creation and monitoring of different aspects such as communication, inclusion & accessibility, green practices, quality assurance and financial management.
